But at 35 weeks through their pregnancy, Stacey and Tahmon Zenzmaier were given devastating news: their baby boy was unlikely to survive.
Arden was born with congenital heart disease and spent the first eight months of his life at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He was diagnosed with Severe Aortic Stenosis, a condition where the aortic valve is severely narrow. The bloodflow from the left ventricle to the aorta is restricted and Arden's heart was unable to pump blood to the rest of his body.
