Help Team Clancy go the distance

09 Jul 2019

Registered Nurse Jessica Quayle has worked at The Children's Hospital at Westmead for the past three-and-a-half years. As a nurse on Clancy Ward, she is part of a team of 45 nurses and doctors who care for sick children suffering from liver and gastroenterological conditions, renal disease, haematology, endocrine and metabolic conditions.

"One of my favourite things is if you are on the ward when a family get a call that their child is going to get a transplant, that's really nice - seeing their face and their reaction," said Jessica.

Jessica and her department, Team Clancy, have signed up for the City2Surf fun run, held on Sunday, 11 August. They will represent Team Bandaged Bear in the iconic race, in a bid to raise money for their department.

"We're hoping to raise $5,000. We're looking at buying new equipment for the ward and little bits and pieces - like baby wraps and clothes - for kids that come in and they don't have things with them," said Jessica.

Team Bandaged Bear City2Surf 2019 raised an incredible $414,000 for The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Bear Cottage. Read about the day here
