The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is one of the founding PICU’s in Australia and one of the largest. Each year our busy PICU cares for more than 1,600 children - many with life-threatening conditions as a consequence of accidents or severe illness. These children are always critically ill, most need artificial ventilation and all require high-level observation and medical care.
We are asking for your help by considering an financial pledge that will go towards specialised training, education and medical equipment for our Intensive Care Unit.
The PICU is a complicated, time-critical, dynamic and challenging environment where a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to treatment and care aims for the very best outcome for patients. The care provided by our staff is life changing for so many families and many more will need our help in the future – which is why we are seeking your support.
Thank you for your support!
