Help parents stand straight
It's been almost a year since my daughter spent a week in hospital after flying head over turkey across her bike handlebars and onto her head (and every other part imaginable). The Children's Hospital at Westmead was our second home and the staff were INCREDIBLE.
We had many different room mates during the time all suffering terribly with parents looking depleted and worn out with worry for their child. The site of the old pull out armchair awaiting them providing little reassurance for a restful night ahead.
During our experience, we were moved to a second room and I felt like I'd won lotto - the room came equipped with a super-comfy pull down bed for the parent. The energy that provided to get through the journey can't be underestimated. Every parent should be gifted the same.
That's my brief story and you don't have to look far to find others with very similar experiences. Please help me raise the $4200 to buy a pull down bed for the hospital to help parents now and in the future to a more restful sleep. Please share my fundraising efforts with you networks.
The Children's Hospital at Westmead is one of Australia's leading specialist medical centres for children, offering a safe and friendly healing environment for children from NSW and beyond. The Hospital's expert medical staff care for more than 80,000 critically ill and injured children every year. That’s why I’ve chosen to raise much needed funds for The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
