One foot at the front line, one foot in the future

About us

One of the largest and most trusted kids' health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation raises funds to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it.

We’ve been delivering on this promise since 1986, raising millions every year for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, a collective of two major children's hospitals, specialised care services and cutting edge paediatric research operating across NSW.

The SCHF team is made up of a diverse collective of passionate professionals united by a mission to go all in for kids’ health, no matter where, no matter what.

A conduit, an enabler and a mechanism for powerful change, we make sure that funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s health care - from the hospitals wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs.

We truly believe there is no possible greater impact for a donated dollar in kids’ health.

We are an independent health promotion charity, registered with the Australian Taxation Office as an Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient.

We are a company limited by guarantee, registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) and we are an approved holder of the Registered Charity Tick.

The impact of our fundraising

Whether it’s about immediate effects or long-term impacts, everything we do at SCHF is geared towards making a difference at the front line of children’s healthcare.

Here are some of the stories about what we have helped achieve.

Our governance

The Foundation has a voluntary Board committed to ensuring our organisation is operating legally, ethically and responsibly.

The Foundation’s Constitution provides a platform for the Board’s decisions and direction, augmented by the 2023-2025 Strategic Plan, which will also help to guide the Board’s focus over the next three years.

Each of the sub-committees is chaired by a Board Director and operates within an agreed Charter. Where appropriate, external experts will be invited to contribute to ensure a broad range of views and ideas are heard, to deliver better outcomes.

Further information about our governance, investment policy and regulatory framework is available here.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation envisions a world where every child receives the best health care, no matter when, no matter what. We are committed to reconciliation and to helping close the gap to achieve equality in health and life expectancy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are proud to have formal endorsement for our first Reflect RAP from Reconciliation Australia.
